Background
Cheshire West and Chester Council has a duty under the Care Act 2014 to provide Social Welfare and Advice Services across the borough to ensure residents have:
- Advice on benefits
- Information about housing matters
- Support with debt management and money advice
- Information regarding employment rights and redundancy
- Information to support with social care related issues.
We would like to hear your views on Social Welfare and Advice Services in west Cheshire. This will help us decide on how the services are delivered going forwards.
The consultation is being undertaken in accordance with the Market Research Society Code of Conduct on our behalf by Ask for Research and Qa Research.
Why change now?
In west Cheshire, the current model of delivery is a traditional model of welfare and advice based in four offices.
This model of delivery has remained largely unchanged for several years. The pandemic period and impact of social distancing restrictions has led to an increased remote and digital offer via an online and telephone service.
We are looking to ensure that future services will meet demands by adopting varied methods of service delivery which have proved successful during this pandemic period. These new methods of support will broaden capacity to meet demand locally and ensure there is a universal offer to all residents of west Cheshire with focus on those living in our deprived wards and the most vulnerable.
We would like to hear the views of:
- Residents of west Cheshire
- Social Welfare and Advice Service clients
- Social Welfare and Advice Service stakeholders.
