Local Plan (Part Two) Land Allocations and Detailed Policies - Preferred Approach consultation
We are consulting on the preferred approach for the Local Plan (Part Two) Land Allocations and Detailed Policies and would like your views on the draft policies and site allocations. To read and comment please see our consultation portal. Comments can be submitted from 9am on 12 August until 5pm on Friday 23 September 2016.
The proposed consultation was considered by the Local Plan Working Group at their meeting on 27 June 2016 and then by Cabinet on 20 July 2016.

Local Service Centre methodology
As part of the preparation of the Local Plan (Part Two), a ‘Local Service Centre Background Paper’ was produced. This set out a draft methodology for identifying local service centres and we asked for your comments on the document between 9 March and 24 April 2015.
The Local Plan Working Group considered a report explaining the responses received and proposed changes to the methodology at their meeting on 29 February 2016. Members agreed to use option 3a of the revised Local Service Centres methodology.
Sustainability appraisal scoping report update - December 2015
An updated scoping report has been prepared in relation to the Local Plan (Part Two) Land Allocations and Detailed Policies. This document was sent to the statutory consultees (specific environmental bodies) on 2 October 2015. The consultation period ended on 6 November and three responses were received.
The scoping report has been amended to take account of the comments received and can be read or downloaded from our portal.
Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) screening determination
An updated SEA screening opinion was included as Appendix C within the Sustainability appraisal scoping report sent to statutory consultees (specific environmental bodies) on 2 October 2015. No comments were made on the updated SEA screening opinion that required any amendments or disagreed with the conclusion that the Local Plan (Part Two) is likely to have significant environmental effects and accordingly will require a Strategic Environmental Assessment.
The final screening determination was made on 10 December 2015 and has been sent to the statutory consultees.

Self and Custom Build Register
Cheshire West and Chester Council are assessing demand for self and custom building using a questionnaire. This demand will be reflected in the Strategic Housing Delivery Plan which will be used as evidence to inform the Local Plan (Part Two) policies.

Issues consultation and additional call for sites
Between 1 May and 19 June 2014, we asked for your views on what policies should or should not be included in the Local Plan (Part Two), including the potential to use Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD). There was also a further opportunity to submit any sites not already suggested during previous consultations.
