In-House Mental Health Provider Services consultation

This consultation has now closed and the report and feedback is available.

Thank you to everyone who took part in our consultation. We have prepared a report that summarises the feedback from this consultation

What you told us has helped shape how we plan to deliver the in-house mental health service in the future, and we have used your feedback to develop the approach to introducing the changes. The outcome of the public consultation has been considered by Joint People DMT on 12 October 2022 with a decision to proceed with the recommendations, incorporating the feedback received.

To give a flavour of how your response has shaped the way forward, we have prepared a table showing how the key messages from the feedback have been reflected in our plans.

Next steps

The proposed changes to the In-House Mental Health Provider Service will progress over the coming months, taking into account the valuable feedback obtained during the public consultation period. A staff consultation has taken place during October and November 2022, the outcome of which will ensure that the required roles and structure are in place to allow the introduction of the new service model. The redesigned service is expected to go-live in April 2023.

The Council has carried out a review of its In-House Mental Health Provider Service and is now considering a number of proposed changes to how it operates. The changes proposed would deliver a modern and effective service that is able to meet the challenges of growing demand, increasing complexity and rising costs in mental health services.

The Council is seeking the views of service users and wider stakeholders on the proposed changes to the service. This consultation is open to all, but we are particularly interested to hear the views of people that use the service, their families and carers, other people with lived experience and the staff and volunteers that work in the service.

Feedback from this consultation will be used to inform decisions on how we deliver the service in the future.
