Health Improvement Strategy consultation

This consultation is now closed.

This is your opportunity to help shape the Cheshire West and Chester Health Improvement Strategy 2018-2022.

This strategy sets our plans to support better health and wellbeing over the next five years in the areas of:

  • Eat Well, Be Active
  • Tobacco control (stop smoking)
  • Alcohol harm reduction
  • Drug misuse
  • Sexual health and wellbeing

Our vision for this strategy is:

To reduce health inequalities and improve the health and wellbeing of people in the borough, enabling residents to live more fulfilling, independent and healthy lives. We will do this by working with communities and residents to improve opportunities for all to have a healthy, safe, and fulfilling life.

Supporting everyone to live well is good for health and wellbeing, both now and into the future. This is true, regardless of age or existing health problems.

The individual chapters in the strategy have grown out of a shared understanding of where our main challenges lie, what needs to change and the best ways of enabling healthier choices.

The chapters also reflect the collective expertise and perspectives of a wide range of partners. We recognise that the biggest impacts come from working together in partnership across communities, statutory organisations, and the voluntary and faith sectors.

Together, we will use these plans to guide our health improvement initiatives, to shape the design and delivery of services, and to focus our energies on reducing differences in health across Cheshire West and Chester's communities.
