This consultation has now closed
Cheshire West and Chester Council wishes to consult with parents, staff, governors, neighbouring schools, the local community and other key stakeholders in connection with a proposal to make a ‘prescribed alteration’ to Blacon High School.
The proposal is:
- To enlarge by expansion so the school may accommodate an additional 150 learners across years 7-11.

- Drop-in event: We will also be holding a drop-in event at the school where local authority officers will be available to answer your questions where possible, and note any comments you would like to feedback. The drop in event is open to all who may have an interest in the consultation proposals, not just the immediate school community. Date: Tuesday 5 March 2019, 3pm - 7pm at Blacon High School. Melbourne Road, Chester, CH1 5JH.

What happens next?
Following the end of the consultation period, the Director of Education will consider feedback received and decide whether to proceed to issue the required public notice.
If the proposals are progressed a four week period of representation will follow the publication of the public notice, after which the Council will make a final decision.

Note that the Council has a responsibility to make sure that its services are available to all, regardless of race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, religion or belief or sexual identity. Comments that are offensive to particular groups or considered inappropriate under the Equality Act 2010 will not be considered or published as part of this consultation.
